Complete abdomen ultrasound preparation

On the day of examination it is necessary to be fasting for at least 6 hours (if compatible with the current therapies) and with the full bladder, it is recommended not to urinate in the 2-3 hours prior to the examination and drink at least half a litre of water half an hour before the examination (excluding children and patients with heart or nephropathic disease who are subject to water restrictions and who should ask their doctor about it).

If the appointment is in the afternoon, 6 hours before make a light meal.

Bring medical records, lab work, and most importantly, prior ultrasounds.

Taking any current therapies according to the usual pattern; for a better definition of the examination adult patients with known meteor problems (intestinal gas) may take a supplement based on alpha and beta galactosidase during the two days before the examination (to be agreed with a specialist or family doctor).

Urological ultrasound scan

Full bladder is required, before examination it is recommended not to urinate within 2-3 hours and drink at least half a liter of water half an hour before (excluding children and patients with heart or nephropathic disease who have been subjected to water restrictions and who should ask their doctor about it).

Preparations for thyroid and testicular ultrasound are not required.
